Many children choose to spend their free time watching or listening to music on iPods or mp3 players. However, many lyrics and television programs are violent, and over the years media violence has changed for the worse. As the amount of programs through television, stereos, video games, and satellite dishes increase, media industries are competing for the loudest, most shocking idea to get the attention of the viewer. Throughout the years society has become more liberal.

Exposure to violence can have significant effects on children during their development and as they form their own intimate relationships in childhood and adulthood. Researchers have that found nonaggressive children who had been exposed to high levels of media violence had similar patterns of activity in an area of the brain linked to self-control and attention as aggressive children who had been diagnosed with disruptive behavior disorder. Knowing the extent of the negative effect media has will help guide me in working with children. Does violent media cause psychological effects on children?
Children, Media, and Violence
As we know not all video games contain violent contents, but most of them are violent and mentally dangerous. Some researches admit that violent games may cause adolescents to become tremendous. Studies showed that video games increase psychological awakening, it could also increase aggressive behavior, emotions and thoughts and finally let teenagers lose the sense of helping others. All these effects will be carried by aggressive young people.
People do not like to admit and address their conflicts therefore it is unsuccessful to overcome conflicts of communication. Conflict is a normal factor between people, but it can lead to destruction of relationships by not using the proper management of communication. There are styles of interpersonal conflict management that can expand positive ways of communication between individuals. The violence in media has surely influenced the way people think, act, and behave. Firstly, media violence has its negative effects on children as it affects them in the way that they become less sensitive towards harming others, they become violent or aggressive, and they fear the world around them.
